Editorial policy
The standard behind our guides, comparisons, research notes, and recommendations.
Browse the full journalAccuracy and sourcing
Material factual claims should be supported by a primary source, direct observation, clearly attributed vendor information, or a reputable secondary source. When a reliable answer is not available, we state the uncertainty instead of filling the gap with an assumption.
Comparisons and recommendations
Software coverage follows a published methodology. Inclusion is not a guarantee of endorsement. Products are evaluated against named criteria, and conclusions should explain buyer fit and tradeoffs rather than declare a universal winner.
Commercial relationships
Sponsorships, affiliate relationships, contributed content, and other material commercial relationships must be disclosed near the relevant content. Payment does not purchase an undisclosed editorial conclusion.
AI-assisted work
AI tools may support research organisation, transcription, outlining, language review, or quality assurance. A named human editor remains responsible for checking the published result. We do not treat an AI-generated answer as a primary factual source.
Updates and corrections
Substantive updates receive a visible updated date. Material factual corrections are made promptly and, where context requires it, explained in a correction note. Minor spelling and formatting changes may be made without a note.
Originality
We do not republish another publication's work as our own. Quotations are kept proportionate, attributed, and linked to their source where available.
